This is a happy combination, as Ingpen's depictions, based on Australian flora, seem to be a perfect fit for Lear's imagined /5(). It contains The Owl and the Pussy-cat as well as a few of Lear better known nonsense verse including The Jumblies, The Cummerbund and Calico Pie.

The best verse is The Owl and the Pussy-Cat which is really enjoyable to read. The rhyme and verse works really well.
